Larry Newman and Dori Newman have a combined experience of over 20 years practicing in the Central Indiana area including, Hamilton County, Marion County, Hendricks County, Hancock County, Madison County, Tipton County, Clinton County and Boone County. Larry and Dori have also represented clients in Carmel City Court and Noblesville City Court.

Dori E. Newman
Dori is a former Hamilton County Misdemeanor/D Felony and Child Support Deputy Prosecutor. Dori graduated from the Indiana University School of Law - Indianapolis in 2001 and practices in the areas of criminal and family law. In 2009 and 2011, Dori was selected as Rising Star by the Indiana Super Lawyers Magazine. Dori began practicing law in 2001 as a Deputy Prosecutor with the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office. While working for the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office, Dori was assigned as a Child Support Deputy Prosecutor. While handling over 1,000 child support cases in this capacity, she gained extensive litigation experience ranging from simple modifications to complex, multi-jurisdictional matters. Dori also was assigned to misdemeanor/D felony courts where she represented the State of Indiana in initial hearings, pre-trial hearings, suppression hearings, depositions, bench trials, jury trials, and violation of probation hearings.
Dori represents clients with all types of family law issues including: divorce and legal separation; child support modification, establishment, or termination, child custody establishment and modification (changing from one parent to another parent); all issues involving paternity matters or matters involving children born out of wedlock; step-parent or contested adoptions; prenuptial agreements; changes to a divorce decree; contempt related issues for all family law matters; guardianships (contested or non-contested); relocation to another area by the custodial parent; obtaining and/or defending against protective orders; defending against or working with the CHINS (Child in Need of Service Petitions); termination of parental rights matters; and family law appeals.
Dori graduated Magna Cum Laude from Indiana University School of Law Indianapolis with a Doctorate of Jurisprudence in 2001. While attending IU School of Law, Dori clerked at the Indiana Department of Environmental Management and Legislative Services Agency. Dori is also a graduate of Texas State University, formerly Southwest Texas, majoring in International Relations, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude.
Lawrence D. Newman
Since 1999, Larry D. Newman has been practicing law in Indiana where he spent nearly 6 years as a Deputy Prosecutor with the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office. Larry handled all levels of cases including major felony, misdemeanor, infractions and ordinance violations. While employed with the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office, Larry was assigned as a Drug Task Force Liaison with the Hamilton/Boone County Drug Task Force as well as was liaison with the Hamilton County Drug Interdiction Team. Larry has also attended trial advocacy training at the National Advocacy Center in South Carolina sponsored by the National District Attorney’s Association.
Larry began representing those accused of criminal offenses in 2005 in Marion County, Hamilton County, Hendricks County, Boone County, Tipton County and Clinton County. Larry’s experience includes representation of all stages of criminal matters including: initial hearings, pre-trial hearings, suppression hearings, depositions, bench trials, jury trials, violation of probation hearing, and appeals. Regardless of whether you have been charged with OWI/DUI, possession of marijuana or other drugs, dealing marijuana or other drugs, domestic battery, traffic tickets, theft, burglary, forgery, conversion, habitual traffic violator/HTV, driving while suspended/DWS, public intoxication, resisting law enforcement, or any other criminal offense, Larry has the experience to meet your needs.
Larry also represents juveniles accused of being involved in delinquent behavior at all stages of the proceedings including: preliminary investigation interviews, detention hearings, initial hearings, fact-finding hearings, reviews of detention, and appeals. If you, or your child, have had a juvenile law matter where there is an accusation of a criminal offense, runaway, incorrigibility, or truancy, Larry can answer your questions, walk you through the process, and make sure your rights are being protected.
Larry practices in the area of family law where represents clients in matters relating to child support issues and paternity.
Larry graduated from Indiana University of School of Law – Indianapolis with a Doctorate of Jurisprudence in 1999. While attending IU-Indianapolis, Larry served as Executive Articles Editor of the Indiana International & Comparative Law Review and his student note, RICO and the Russian Mafia: Toward a New Universal Jurisdiction Principle Under International Law was published in 1998 in Vol. 9 of the Indiana International & Comparative Law Review. Additionally, while in law school, Larry served as a clerk of the United States Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration. Additionally, he is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa where he graduated in 1993 majoring in criminology and minored in political science.
